EXPERIENCE
Over 13 years experience developing PC-based multi-user database applications. Experienced with information systems for industries including: auction, fund-raising, construction, defense, banking, legal, accounting, real estate, inventory, and casino. Systems include DOS and Windows. Familar with dBASE, FoxBase, FoxPro, Clipper, FoxPro for Windows, Visual FoxPro, Delphi, Crystal Reports, R&R, C, Lotus 123, and AutoCad. Served as a LAN administrator in several locations. Internet familarity includes Netscape, LiveWire, FastTrack Server, JavaScript, and HTML. Have developed and operate a simple WWW site. Companies I have worked with include: CompuCom, Phoenix/AMC, Rockwell, Alexander & Alexander, MBank, Team Bank, and GE. Developed and sold "Pledge-Master", a fund- raising product for churches, and "Auction-Master", an auction management system is being marketed now.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Developed a system analysis and documentation program which reads batch files, FoxPro and Clipper code, and R&R reports. Output identified all file I/O, program/table dependencies, and program relationships. Optimized reporting programs to run in a fraction of their previous times, and implemented error-recovery routines to handle file contention and corrrect errors, and a beaconing program to alert operators of problems on their console.
Created esoteric real-time transaction analysis program for auction company which calculates bidder's unpaid purchases and compares with historical buying habits or default new bidder profile. Outputs exception reports every few minutes so operators may contact bidders who operate outside of the company's "comfort level" of bidding. Notifies proprietors by alpha-numeric paging.
Updated many legacy programs to include modern features such as pick lists and lookups, enforce referential integrity, implement SQL functions, optimize for speed, and improve network capabilities. Developed AutoCad drawing dependency program which reads AutoCad drawings, outputs child drawing information to tables for SQL queries.
Performed "crash recovery" of insurance databases after major crash left them missing critical data. Developed routines to read historical backups and flat files, and re-created databases from the "best source" of the data.
Designed and programmed property management system for bank. System kept real estate parcel information, recorded tenant information, processed rental checks, handled fractional ownership interests, billed fees to accounts, and generated collection letters. Collected input from VAX system via modem.
