This is an excerpt from the FOIA request to Janet Reno
from Paul Mitchell, for a list of political prisoner
cases prosecuted by DOJ:

"Admissible documents requested:

"1.  Certified list of all civil and criminal actions
     brought by the Plaintiffs United States and United
     States of America, under authority of subtitle F in the
     Internal Revenue Code, during the period when former
     U.S. Senator Lloyd Bentsen occupied the office of
     Secretary of the Treasury, list to include case docket
     numbers, case parties, clerks of the courts which first
     filed these actions, attorney(s) of record, and
     statutes which were allegedly violated and which 
     allegedly invoked the jurisdiction of the courts that
     were petitioned in these actions."


This FOIA request was dated September 23, 1996.

The response from Bonnie L. Gay, Acting Assistant Director, 
Executive Office for United States Attorneys, 600 "E" St., N.W.,
Room 7100 BICN, Washington, D.C. 20530-0001, was dated 
June 18, 1997, and stated as follows:

"Request Number: 97-53
"Subject of Request: not specific enough to search" [sic]
