Hello Friends,

If you haven't already seen it, I highly
recommend the 15th Anniversary Issue of
PC Magazine, March 25, 1997, Vol. 16, No. 6.
The graph of Moore's Law on page 169 is
particularly amazing. Quoting: "In 1965,
when Intel cofounder Gordon Moore predicted
that microprocessor transistor density would
double every two years (a statement known
since as Moore's Law), no one could imagine
exactly how accurate his prognostication
would prove to be. What's perhaps more
astounding is that if microprocessors continue
to follow this trend -- and we have little doubt
that they will -- computers powered by multiple-
gigahertz CPUs will be commonplace in the next
century." Today's MMX Pentium has about 4.5
million transistors.

Get down to your local newsstand asap;
this one is a collector's item, for sure!

I would love to see PC Magazine sell the graph
of Moore's Law as a full-size wall poster:
it projects the law out to the year 2015.

Enjoy! The future of computers is a bright one.

/s/ Paul Mitchell
