Yes, you did miss some ignorant flaming
responses to the Modest Proposal,
Second Edition. They were "private"
flames (like closed pit barbecues).

Please join us in petitioning the
City of Long Beach to modify their
official municipal nomenclature to be
Short Beach with Long Pier -- reaching
all the way to Red China, and maybe even
beyond (the "great beyond", not to be
confused with the "Great Wall":).

Since the Long Beach Naval Shipyard falls
within the federal zone, Congress can ignore
the Constitution completely and institute
a program of economic motivation(s) designed
to encourage a relatively high concentration
of abortion factories, right next door to
the fine dining establishments previously
approved and adopted by August Council of
Short Beach with Long Pier, voting in
February ultra vires.

This siting policy will be justified in
terms of the enormous savings in gasoline
consumption which would otherwise occur
if said factories were to be located at
a greater distance from said dining
establishments, due to federal plans and
expectations that said establishments will
do a brisk business (maybe also a brisket
business).

An Environmental Impact Statement ("EIS") can thus
be avoided as well, due to the existence
of conditions justifying a Negative Declaration [sic]
in lieu of said EIS. This will make the original
authors of the Paperwork Reduction Act terribly
happy, even if they are presently pushing daisies.

Has anybody seen my napkin? It seems to have been
stolen from my lap.

Oh, waiter, waiter! When does the buffet counter close?
