: I appreciate your comments. Now let me ask you a some questions. Since you were IRS agents you should be able to answer these questions:
: 1. Are IRS agents or Special Agents employees of the Federal Government?
There are two departments within the IRS. There is the Civil division and then there is the Criminal Division. All IRS employees are employees of the government and pay taxes just like everyone else. The IRS also has Special Agents which serve under the criminal part of the law dealing with anybody who evades taxes on over a million dollars worth of income.
Money laundering is also a major felony investigated by the IRS. Special Agents not only pay taxes but are audited to make sure they file correctly.
2. Do IRS agents pay income taxes?
Yes. Many IRS employess receive regular audits.
: 3. Do IRS agents have an oath of office, and, if so how can I get a copy of it?
Some, most notably the Criminal Division, has an oath of office. It should be a matter of public record. Check with your local library to find out more information.
: 4. Do you know if 'agents' ever question why the IRS is not listed under the U.S. Department of the Treasury in the US Code?
The IRS is regulated and created by Congress.
: I and many others would like to know the answers to these questions. Are you willing to share the answers? I have others, but I want to see if answers to these are forthcoming.
: Assuming you guys are on the up-and-up I really appreciate your comments and position on the tax issue. Those of us who know enough about the fraud perpetrated by the Congress and the IRS would like some insiders like you guys to share ways to stop the IRS in its tracks. Surely you must be aware of some of these ways if you worked for them long enough to retire.
