First things last or vice versa. What gold currency? These united States were never on a gold standard, but rather, a silver standard with gold as an equivalent value.
Secondly: The first right question to ask any candidate for any public office is where his/her loyalty lies if elected. Many will say it is to the people. Wrong answer! That's leading down that slippery slope of that vile form of government known as democracy. The only acceptable answer is either to God first and then the constitution, which may be dangerous due to the different concepts of God and the many different gods. Preferable, the loyalty is to the Constitution which begs the question of how much time has been spent understanding said constitution.
Anyway, the President of the U.S. isn't our president. If he were, the people would be able to vote for him. We don't. We vote only for those we delegate legislative authority to on our behalf. As to the presidency, all the people vote for is delegates to the Eloctoral College who are not bound to their prior declaration or to the popular vote mandate. Think about these things.
