In my opinion.

this nineteenth day of the ninth month (September) in
the year nineteen hundred and ninety-eight, anno Domini.
Leave the capitals off, anno Domini is the system reference.
Doesn't it say somewhere in the Bible, not to take oaths?
An affidavit is a statement or pledge of truth. The sworn
to part, may complicate matters. Make the statement, and have it
witnessed by three reliable witnesses, and "file for record" on
your own behalf.

Year of our(the) Lord, or anno Dominio (did I get this right) indicates
a system of time reckoning (live reckoning perhaps).
I'm not sure if mentioning "Jesus Christ" will perform the same function,
except to once again deviate from terminology, although by inference
it could be thought to mean the same. But it would have to be construed.

Why call a "meter" (SI system) anything other than a meter?
Why rename an "inch"?
