The bankruptcy laws of the U. S. have a very ancient
and reputable lineage, coming down to us from the
law of ancient Israel, wherein all debt was mandated
to be forgiven every seven years.

Bankruptcy is a "right" coming to us from this
Anglo-Saxon "common law" originating in the
Scriptures. If by "constitutional" right you
mean it enjoys constitutional protection against
infringement by government, I would tend to disagree.

I find it ironic--considering the righteous source
of bankruptcy law--that the people who condemn us
most for using it are the--you guessed it, "Christians".
