Technically speaking, the correct form is:

"Citizen of the United States of America".

The capital "C" in Citizen is the most important,
because that is the spelling found at 1:2:2, 1:3:3,
2:1:5, 3:2:1 and 4:2:1 in the U.S. Constitution.
Try to remember those citations.  They will come
in handy, time and time again!
