: My understanding of the Torah appears to be different

: My understanding is that the Sabbatical, occuring
: every 7 years, accomplished a number of things, from
: the resting of the land to the forgiveness of debt.

: The year after the seventh Sabbatical--Jubilee, the 50th
: year--was the time for the restoration of property and the
: freeing of slaves of Hebrew blood.

: Perhaps the reason we've never freed any slaves in
: America during Jubilee is because we've never had
: any slaves of Hebrew extraction??????????????????

Correct-a-mundo M'sieur. No debt shall exist for over six years. We were only addressing the "Year of Jubilee" where everything is begun afresh and anew, not the lesser Sabattical years.
Just another one of those dumb ol' human communication glitches...
No slaves of Hebrew extraction / blood??????????
We agree wholeheartedly with your series of [sarcastic?] question marks.
Wonder how many readers are now scratching their heads? :-)
